The Northampton County Beer Festival is back at Becket’s Park

It is that time of the year again. We need your help and hope that you will have a lot of fun supplying it. Please have a look at the staffing form for the Festival and consider what you might like to do. We need help with setting up and taking down, with serving beer at the Festival and with judging the Northamptonshire beers on Friday afternoon.

It would be very helpful if you could complete and submit the form as soon as you can. This enables us to get staff badges ready and to organize the judging tables. A lot of preparation goes into the judging, so there has to be a cut off point for volunteering, which is one week before the event - 24 May. Volunteers to work at the festival can be accepted somewhat later.

Please note that we usually get a lot of volunteers for the early shifts when there are fewest customers, and fewer volunteers for the later shifts when it is busier. This results in some standing around with little to do early on and being under pressure later, neither of which is ideal. If travel arrangements allow it, please do consider volunteering for the later shifts. If we get plenty of volunteers for the early shifts it may be the case that an offer to work on just the first shift of the day will be declined, but with gratitude.

For various reasons, including health and safety we will have to tighten up on the rules a bit this year. It is hoped that you will not even notice or be inconvenienced. One aspect is that only those who have completed a staffing form will be admitted to the site to work, so that anybody who simply turns up on the day will have to pay to enter the Festival in the normal way.
