  • SOCIAL GAMES NIGHT – NORTHAMPTON Wednesday 3 December 2025 Albion Brewery Bar, Northampton

Our popular games night with a skittles match amongst ourselves. This regular event is on the first Wednesday of the month at the Albion Brewery Bar who have offered a £10 voucher to the monthly winner. If you don’t play skittles, you are still more than welcome at this monthly event and you can always play cards or dominoes instead. Start at 18:30.

  • BRANCH CHRISTMAS SOCIAL MEAL – HARDINGSTONE Wednesday 10 December 2025 Sun Inn, Hardingstone

Following on from this now popular event, we will spend the evening close to Northampton at the Sun Inn, Hardingstone, which stocks some interesting beers. There are several choices on the menu, with an option of a two (£31) or three course (£38) meal which is attached. There will also be the usual Xmas prize quiz. Tables have been booked for 19:00. Please indicate whether you wish to attend to firm the booking by 28th November. I will require a pre-order by Sunday 30th November..

  • ROMAN AWAYDAY – GLOUCESTER Saturday 13 December 2025 Gloucester

This year’s Christmas Roman Awayday takes us to Gloucester, a lovely city with its redeveloped docks and city around the cathedral. This is also the final weekend of the Christmas Markets for anyone who wishes to dip-out on a couple of pubs. With six GBGs pubs there may even be time for a nip into Cheltenham. With prices continuing to rise, the larger coach works out at £30 per head. Usual Desborough, Kettering, Wellingborough and Northampton pick-ups. Fully booked, reserve list being taken.

  • BRANCH SOCIAL - PUB OF THE SEASON - CLIPSTON Friday 9 January 2026 Bulls Head, Clipston

We make a welcome visit to the Bull’s Head, Clipston, where we present Phil Baker with the awards for the Rural Winter Pub of the Season. Formerly an Everards pub, it is now owned by Red Oak Taverns and Phil took over in June 2024. Four ales, with two usually from Grainstore. Why not book a table for a meal too? Meet 19:30 for a 20:00 presentation.

  • BRANCH OPEN MEETING – ECTON Monday 12 January 2026 Three Horseshoes, Ecton

With only six branch meetings a year, we repeat 2025 with a return to the Three Horseshoes (GBG, NN6 0QA) where the Benjamin Franklin Brewery has been installed. The meeting will be held in the side room at 19:30.

  • BRANCH SOCIAL TRIPLE STAMPS 29 Saturday 24 January 2026 Derby area

The Triple Stamps has proved problematic this year as I’ve approached six breweries and none want to offer a brewery tour. Therefore we will be visiting the Derby area where instead we will visit three brewery taps with the breweries alongside. On the agenda then are the taps of Brunswick, Dancing Duck and Shiny, with pub visits to two new top nation inventories; the Holly Bush Inn, Makeney, and Malt Shovel, Spondon. There will also be three or four GBGs on the list too. Desborough, Kettering, Wellingborough, Northampton pick-ups. Cost expected to be £25 for a luxury coach. Please book.

  • BRANCH SOCIAL – PUB OF THE SEASON – BARTON SEAGRAVE Monday 26 January 2026 Stirrup Cup, Barton Seagrave

Our second presentation of 2026 is for the town, although in this case, will be Urban Winter Pub of the Season. The award goes to Zak at the Stirrup Cup, Barton Seagrave. Very much a community pub, Zak carries on the good work that Mark created here with four ales on including a local ale. Meet at 19:30 for a 20:00 presentation.

  • SOCIAL GAMES NIGHT – NORTHAMPTON Wednesday 4 February 2026 Albion Brewery Bar, Northampton

  • BRANCH SOCIAL – CURRY NIGHT – KETTERING Friday 6 February 2026 Kettering

For a change, we hold the annual curry night in Kettering at the Royal Bengal on Rockingham Road where even on a Friday; there is a fixed price banquet option with most items on the menu. The tables are booked for 19:30, so we will first meet in the Alexandra Arms from 18:00 where around a dozen beers are available. Park your car outside the St Andrews Church. Please book.

  • Branch AGM 2026 Monday 23 March 2026 Wootton Club, Wootton

Advance notice of the AGM and as always, we still require a few posts to be filled to spread the load. The meeting will be held at the Wootton WMC where member’s prices have been arranged for our beers. In addition, it is anticipated that a dark beer from Great Oakley will grace the bar. Please attend and volunteer where necessary. Proceedings will begin at 19:30.
