BRANCH SOCIAL – ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL - WOT NO HANDPUMPS III -LocAle - SAT 26TH APRIL
For the Anniversary year, I am re-running one of the “Wot No Handpumps” to Essex and Suffolk. Originally an idea of Barry White’s, this trip involves a run down to the Chelmsford area once more to cover eight pubs dispensing their beers by gravity. Four of the pubs featured on the 2nd May 1998 trip, so all deserve a revisit! The major beers are from Essex breweries with Bishops Nick, Colchester, Mighty Oak, Moody Goose, Roughacre and Wibblers. We will leave Northampton at around 9:00 and plan to be back at the Malt by 22:00. Pick-ups in Kettering, Northampton and Higham Ferrers. Please book.

CIDER PUB OF THE YEAR WINNER PRESENTATION – WELLINGBOROUGH – LocAle - SAT 3rd MAY
For the second year running we present our Cider Pub of the Year 2025 award to Mary Donaldson at the Little R’Ale (GBG), which now goes forward to the East Central Cider Pub of the Year 2025 competition. Mary has been in charge since April 2022 and with a choice of around 40 ciders, it’s easy to see how she has won this award. There are also five changing beers for the non-apple crowd. A Saturday afternoon also offers an alternative to an evening to provide more time. Presentation at 14:00.

SOCIAL BREWERY BEER FESTIVAL – KETTERING - POTBELLY – NN16 0HY – LocAle - SAT 10th MAY
The Potbelly Summer Beer, Cider and Gin Festival is in the diary so we will hold our popular social here on the Saturday afternoon and into the evening. Around thirty beers including regulars from the brewery, plus a wide range of cider too. The actual brewery entrance is on Sidney Street, Kettering. Meet at 14:00 onwards. Please note cash only.

BRANCH MEETING – NORTHAMPTON – LocAle - MON 12TH MAY
The bi-monthly branch meeting will be held a few weeks before the Beer Festival at the Pomfret Arms where a selection of usually Great Oakley beers area available. Meeting will commence at 19:30 in the rear meeting room.

RURAL PUB OF THE YEAR PRESENTATION – NETHER HEYFORD –NN7 3LE – LocAle - WED 14st MAY
Our second presentation of our Pub of the Year Awards takes us to the west of the county to the Foresters Arms, Nether Heyford, a delightful village pub where we present the award of Rural Pub of the Year 2025. This popular community pub is always busy, appealing to young and old, ladies and gents. Meet at 19:30 for a presentation to Mike and his daughter Fay at 20:00

NORTHAMPTON BEER FESTIVAL – NORTHAMPTON – LocAle - FRI 30th-SAT 31st MAY
Beer Festival heaven as once again the branch supports the Northampton County Beer Festival which takes place at Becket’s Park over two days opening at 11:00 on the Friday. Once again our Branch will support the running of the real ale and cider bars. Staff are required at all sessions if you can spare a few hours, so please book through our website.

BRANCH PUB OF THE YEAR PRESENTATION – TOWCESTER – LocAle - WED 4th JUNE
Our third presentation following the Pub of the Year judging is for the Pub of the Year 2025 which takes us to the Towcester Mill Brewery Tap. Runner-up last year, this vibrant brewery tap has grown since its early years and showcases the award-winning Towcester Mill beers. Meet at 19:30 for the presentation which will take place at 20:00.
