A low ceilinged, long pub probably dating from the late 18th century in part. As its name suggests, it is situated opposite the parish church. It was formerly a NBC pub and passed into the ownership of Watney Mann, when most of the interior "renovations" were executed. As a result, it is now a single bar pub in an semi-open plan style with several eating and drinking areas tucked away behind pillars and the supporting walls. The pub has had several ups and downs over recent years and has on occasions ended up being closed for periods of time.Food is available every day with Mondays designated the "Burger Night" and Sunday Roasts are proving very popular.
Real ale not always available. Regular promotions on other drinks include "beat the clock"
