Built in 1602 and a pub since 1719, this white-washed old pub stands on the old A50 Northampton to Leicester road consisting of several rooms. To the front, the compact bar has two drinking areas with a wood-burning open fire in the lounge. A motley collection of beer tankards, steins and framed photos is displayed throughout. To the rear is the restaurant, which occupies two linked rooms, one heavily beamed. Four guest beers are usually from local breweries including Oakham and Dowbridge. A beer festival is held in late July/August. Mind your head in the bar! Recently awarded Rural Pub of the Season Summer 2016.
