Althorp Coaching Inn (Fox & Hounds)Main Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
This early 17th century pub is the hub of village life. A charming, rambling old house with many nooks and crannies to relax in. An attractive restaurant adjoins the bar. A welcoming open fire and a warm welcome greet you in the bar . Oak beams and ancient flagstones floor surround the bar. Down stairs is a subterranean restaurant next to a tiny cellar. The outside is almost as impressive as the inside, with a delightful courtyard overlooking the thatched and tiled roofs of the pub and outbuildings. There is a large barn which doubles as a function room and big screen display for sporting events. There is also a covered smoking area and a lawned garden, with a large car park to the rear. It's proximity to Althorp has ensured a steady stream of visitors and the pub gets very busy at weekends.
