White Hart54 High Street
See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.
Painted stone and brick double fronted pub with a porched entrance. Parts of the pub appear to be very old and the newly refurbished restaurant at the rear of the bar would have once been in an open yard as there is evidence of the old external walls of two buildings on either side of it. Elsewhere, an old inglenook with further dining area to its left is another attractive feature of this pleasant building. Extensive refurbishment and renovations took place in December 2011 and the pub is a blend of old and contemporary, all done to a very high standard. Emphasis is on modern British dining but three real ales are always available with two rotating guests from the Enterprise portfolio accompanying the ubiquitous Doom Bar; the permanent house beer. Outside there is a large car park and smokers' patio and there is a small garden for al-fresco drinking to the rear of the building. Food serving times vary throughout the week so check their website for details. Note that on Mondays, the pub does not open at lunchtime and no food is served in the evening.
