Branch Diary

Here is the branch diary of meetings and socials for the next few months. All meetings start at 20:00 unless indicated otherwise.

WE ARE BACK!

Welcome everyone. It has been good to see a few of you out over the last three weeks since the branch restarted its social activities. Still, with a membership of over 2,200, a few more members would be appreciated. Despite a relaxation in the rules enabling us to arrange socials, Covid 19 has not gone away and so with this in mind, the social diary will be arranged considering your safety. Therefore there will be no organised trips until possibly November, but instead a weekly series of socials on changing days around the five branch PLO areas.

NORTHAMPTON BEER FESTIVAL – NORTHAMPTON - LocAle THU 9th – SAT 11th SEPTEMBER
After several cancelled dates, the Northampton Beer Festival is back at Becket’s Park and will run from Thursday to Saturday. Once again our Branch will support the running of the real ale and cider bars. Staff are required at all sessions, please see the link at https://forms.gle/pqt7fMC8Yrur5QxQ9 if you can spare a few hours.

BRANCH OPEN MEETING – NORTHAMPTON - LocAle WED 15th SEPTEMBER
Our second branch meeting following our release will be held at the Lamplighter where we have the upstairs meeting room secured. We are usually here for the AGM to enjoy one of the many unusual beers that are often available which may include a dark ale. For anyone driving, the St Michaels multi-storey car park is less than five minutes walk away. Meeting starts at 20.00.

BRANCH SOCIAL – GREAT CRANSLEY & LODDINGTON - LocAle SUN 19th SEPTEMBER
The Three Cranes, Great Cransley, close to Broughton, has recently been taken over by the Kelchner Brewery. As a result, three pumps now serve a changing Kelchner Ale, a local ale, and a third wild card. We will meet here between 12:00 and 13:30 before moving on to the next village, to the Hare at Loddington where Sunday Roasts have been booked. Four beers including a locale are usually on the bar. If you wish to have a Sunday Roast, then please advise me by Saturday 11th September.

BRANCH SOCIAL – NORTHAMPTON WED 29th SEPTEMBER
The Road to Morocco has always been a favourite, although being away from the town centre is often overlooked. To make amends, we have a social here where long–serving landlord Steve will make us most welcome. Usually three nationals and three guests are on, including the ever popular Theakstons Old Peculiar. Meet from 19:00.

BRANCH SOCIAL – LONG BUCKBY - LocAle WED 6th OCTOBER
We are back in Long Buckby for a twin social, starting at the King’s Head at 19:00. Saved from closure by Everards, expect to see three beers from our remaining ‘family’ brewer. A short walk afterwards at 20:00 takes us up to Badgers Arms, a micropub which during lockdown survived by converting the downstairs to an off-licence. A good choice of beers though is still available in the upstairs bar.

BRANCH OPEN MEETING – TOWCESTER - LocAle WED 13th OCTOBER
Time for a branch meeting in the south as we return to the Towcester Mill Brewery for our monthly meeting. Another popular venue, there are usually half a dozen beers on the bar including one or two guests supplementing their own brews. Meeting starts at 20.00.
